Avalanches
A collection of card sculptures made from photos of Chinese ceramics cut from auction catalogues. This work was ‘worn’ in a durational performance at ‘Unstable Monuments’ at the Old Magistrates Court in Bristol, curated by Jesse Leroy Smith. This also is presented as static work.
The images of valuable objects have been re-presented as valueless cardboard artworks. The relationship of useable objects to the body has been twisted, and the gentle movement of the ceramics swinging and and rocking offers the viewer a new possilitt of handling their own teacups and plates.
